Snapchat keeps track on your Best Friends List. This lists the people you are most likely to be chatting with. This list is displayed at the top of your main friend list. Sending a Snap makes it easy to find these people.
How does Snapchat identify your Best Friends? It’s quite simple.
Snap Score refers to the number of Snaps that a user has sent since they joined. Every conversation between you, your friends, receives an identical score. Your friendship score will increase the more people you speak with.
These scores are used to determine your Best Friends List. It then lists your most popular chats in the order of how you score in friendship.
What does Snapchat’s “Friend Emojis” refer to?
How do you find out which Snapchat Best Friends you really are? These friends will appear at top right on your Send To screen. To see your friends, click on your profile (the circle in the top-left). Your Best Friends will be displayed at the top. The rest of the friends will be listed alphabetically.
By swiping up on your Chat screen, all your contacts will be visible. These are your Best Friends.

- Grimacing smile: You both have a #1 best friend.
- Fire This is displayed when you are on a Snapstreak, along with the number of days consecutively you have snapped each other.

Maybe you are worried about privacy and want to know how Snapchat can hide Best Friends. No one can see what your Snapchat friends are doing.
Other users used to have access to Best Friends lists. Snapchat saw the light, and in 2015 it removed this feature.
You can still use some Emojis such as the Smiling Face With Sunglasses sign to indicate that you’re Best Friends.

How to get Snapchat best friends removed
Only you will know who your Best Friends truly are.
You might still wish delete Best Friends from Snapchat. This can be accomplished depending on how frequently you snap or chat with them. This is no longer possible.
There are three options.

First, delete the friend. This could be due a breakup and you don’t want to remind them every time they use the platform.
Swipe left to access Chat. Next, tap on Bitmoji or the profile icon of the person that you want to remove. Click on the vertical line in the upper-right corner of the screen and choose to Remove friend or Block.
Temporarily, a friend can be removed. You can still contact them, and they can easily undo the removal. Block makes it permanent. This will remove them completely from your Best Friends List and the entire app. They won’t see your Snap Score, so they might assume you removed them or suspect that you blocked them.
