This software is supposed to reduce screen time. It’s frustrating Pixel 3a owners.
Google may have a problem with the Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL. This applies to both Pixel 3a and Pixel 3 XL.
A Reddit thread revealed that new Pixel3a and pixel 3a XL users are having major performance issues, which are making their smartphones slow down. These people tried many different solutions to fix the problem but were unable to find a solution.
Google’s Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL were unveiled at last week’s GoogleI/O conference. These handsets were made for mid-range smartphones and start at $399. They offer a solid set of features at a reasonable price. The smartphones received strong reviews.
Digital Wellbeing was introduced in Android Pie last year to provide more insight into your smartphone’s usage. The app works in the background and collects usage data. It is similar to Apple’s Screen Time. The app then displays information about your smartphone usage and offers you control options to increase your productivity.
It is not clear why the Digital Wellbeing app could be causing problems with the Pixel 3a line. It runs fine in other Android versions and users haven’t complained about it elsewhere. The possibility exists that the finding could be circumstantial. Google has not made it clear whether the Pixel 3a problems are related to Digital Wellbeing.
It is also important to note that it is impossible to know how widespread the problem really is. Although there are many Reddit users complaining about slowdowns, they are only a small percentage of the overall user base. It is not clear if the problem affects more people.
Google’s future is dependent on the Pixel 3a lineup. We will be covering this issue more than once it is resolved.
To disable Digital Wellbeing and improve your performance, go to the Settings on your device and search for “Usage Access.” Select Digital Wellbeing, and toggle “Permit Usage access” to off.
