Asus GeForce RTX 3080 Noctua Edition review

Popular Posts

The Asus GeForce RTX 3080 Noctua can very well be called RTX 3080+.

The already impressive RTX 3080 is taken and paired with two 180mm fans, it blows up the heatsink like a castle of heat dissipation. This makes it an incrediblely cool graphics card, allowing it to maintain its best performance levels and virtually eliminating any possibility of performance throttling. It’s not perfect, but it is more than enough to make RTX3080 Noctua the best graphics cards for those who are serious about overclocking.

This card has its faults, such as the higher price and larger footprint. It will also not fit into many gamers’ PC cases, particularly if there is anything else that occupies a slot on the PCIe.

Some gamers might not like the look of the graphics cards. Gamers with specific gaming preferences will find the RTX 3080 Noctua’s brown and tan colors to be a problem with their rigs. The RTX 3080 Noctua – noctua means owl in Latin – has a striking resemblance with its nameake. It is difficult to say if you can appreciate this in a particular case.

The Asus GeForce RTX3080 Noctua edition is the best Nvidia GeForce graphic cards that offers exceptional thermals, quiet performance, and quality design.

The Asus GeForce RTX 3080 Noctua Edition Asus GeForce RTX 3080 is a true thicc boi. The RTX 3080 Founders Edition measures 11.2 x 4.4 x 1.6 in (255 x 112 x 39mm), while the RTX 3080 Noctua measures 12.2 x 5.7 x 345 inches (310 x 1404.8 x 87.5 mm).

This card is more than twice the thickness, and will not fit in many builds. Before you purchase this card, make sure to measure your space and think about cable management.

The fans take up all the space, while the heat sink cools the GPU. This colorway may not be suitable for everyone. Those who do will not get the best out of it if the fan is hidden from view.

The RTX 3080 Noctua’s no-BIOS switch can change the card between performance mode and silent mode. This is a plus.

The Asus GeForce RTX3080 Noctua edition is an overclockable card. You can expect better performance than the base RTX3080 FE card from Nvidia. However, if you are interested in raw performance, our Nvidia GeForce RTX3080 review will help you to determine that.

We’ll be focusing on the thermal performance for now. The thermal performance of the RTX 3080 is greatly improved by the larger fans and heatsink. The RTX 3080 Founders Edition ran at an average 47 decibels on an open bench and drew about 320W at maximum load.

The RTX 3080 Noctua meanwhile reached a very cold 58.7 degrees Celsius. However, it did draw a noticeable higher 350W of power. It only averaged 48.5 decibels despite the larger fans pushing more air through its heat sink.

This resulted in marginally higher performance for both synthetic benchmarks as well as actual gaming performance. This could be attributed to the thermals that slightly increased performance while keeping throttling down to a minimum.
