The iPad mini 6 could have cheeks or noses, but this tablet is just too cute. You might be misled by the name of the tablet, if you compare it to the regular iPad. It’s smaller than the regular iPad, but it’s still not the mini version. This is, instead, the iPad Air (2020)..
The iPad Air mini has the same almost bezel-free design with Touch ID-enabled power buttons on the sides, flat edges, and USB-C ports — all iPad Air staples. Perhaps “iPad Air mini” sounds a bit too long for Apple but it’s exactly what this is.
The iPad mini 2021 is similar to the iPad Air in that the iPad mini 2021 can be purchased in more colors than the iPad Air. Apple now offers the mini in pink, purple, Starlight (think champagne), and the Space Gray color we tested.
The iPad mini 6’s 7.7×5.3x 0.25 inch frame is smaller than that of the iPad Air 4, (9.7×7.0x 0.24 inches), and iPad 9, (9.8×6.8x 0.29 inches). The Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 Lite (8.4 x 4.9 x 0.31) has a footprint that is almost invisible (by 0.35 inches in size and 0.06 inch thickness).
