TRP ratings pressure news anchors and journalists to look for controversies and create them when none exist.
Tovino is a TV news anchor. When he’s fired for ‘lackof performance’, Tovino rebrands himself on a different channel as a loud, tyrannical journalist creating sensational news just to have it.
This film shows what happens behind the media’s endless pursuit of exclusives. It was highly praised for its authentic portrayal of studios and newsrooms. Also, the movie’s court arguments raise valid questions about what constitutes public-interest journalism.
