The best phones in the UK 2022

Popular Posts

We have compiled a list of the top phones in the UK. You can scroll down to see the best Android and iPhone phones in the UK.

The phones at the top do the best but are also the most expensive. We have several phones that are cheaper than the top-of-the-line models, but they still offer great performance and features.

You’ll notice that many of these phones are familiar if you look at our selections for the top phones overall. The UK has many options from European companies, but not the U.S., which makes it exciting to have a wide range of phones.

We have the best selections for any type of phone, the best Android phones, and the best iPhones.

Which are the top phones in the UK

The iPhone 13 Pro Max is our favorite phone in the U.K. Although the entire iPhone 13 range is great (there are two more models on this list), the iPhone 13 Pro Max model stands out due to its larger display, better cameras, and longer battery life.

The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is the ideal choice if you want the best Android. There are many great options, including the OnePlus 10 Pro, Realme GT 2 Pro, and the Pixel 6, but the S22 Ultra is the best. It has an S Pen and offers superior software support.

Depending on how much you have to spend, the best budget options are the Pixel 6a and OnePlus Nord 2T as well as the iPhone SE (2022), Redmi Note 11 Pro and the iPhone SE (2022). These all offer premium features, despite being expensive. They’ll still feel unique to use.

This list may be subject to some changes in the near future. Samsung just announced its Galaxy Z fold 4 as well as the Galaxy Z flip 4, their two latest foldable phones. These phones are a significant upgrade to the Z Fold and Z Flip models. We may soon see one or both of them on this list.

These are the best smartphones you can buy in the UK today

1. iPhone 13 Pro Max

This is the best phone that you can purchase right now

Display: OLED Display 6.7 inches (2778×1284).

CPU: A15 Bionic

Storage: 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, 1TB

Rear camera: 12MP wide, 12MP ultrawide, 12MP telephoto (f/2.8), 12MP long (f/1.5),

Front camera: Front camera 12MP (f/2.2).

Weight: 238g

Batteries: 4,352 mAh

+ Classes -leading cameras+Beautiful 120Hz display+Powerful chipset

Avoidable reasons

-ProRes video is not available on the 128GB version and no charger.

Apple’s iPhone 13 Pro Max, the top-tier iPhone 13 Pro Max, is once more leading the smartphone world. This model builds on the iPhone 13 Pro Max from last year and features better cameras (making it once again our top camera phones), a larger battery, and a 120Hz ProMotion refresh rate. Apple equips the device with the latest iOS version and a powerful chipset so that you can fully enjoy the App Store’s many applications.

One of the new features, ProRes high quality video, is not available on the iPhone 13 Pro Max. This means that the iPhone 13 Pro Max only has 256GB storage. Another issue is charging. Apple doesn’t include a charger with the purchase. The phone can only charge at 20W wired and 15W wireless.

2. Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra

The best Android phone available

Display: 6.8 inch OLED (3200×1400; 10-120Hz).

CPU: Exynos 2200

RAM: 8GB, 12GB

Storage: 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, 1TB

Rear camera: Rear camera: 108MP wide (f/2.2), 12MP ultra wide (f/2.2), 10MP telephoto (3x zoom, f/2.4), 10MP telephoto (10x zoom, f/2.4),

Front camera: 40MP (f/2.2).

Weight: 228g

Battery: 5,000 mAh

+Bright 120Hz display+Improved photographic system+Included S Pen

Avoidable reasons

By default, no included charger-Heavy RAM

The Galaxy S22 Ultra Android phone is the most sophisticated and well-rounded. The Galaxy S22 Ultra features top-of-the-line tech, including a 120Hz LTPO 2.0 screen and quad rear cameras. A stylus is also included for added versatility.

The only problem we have is the lack of a charger in the box. This is especially annoying since the S21 Ultra supports faster 45W charging. Samsung has also reduced the RAM available to the phone. The default model offers less memory for the same price as the S21 Ultra. Despite these caveats, however, the S22 Ultra is still the best Android phone.

3. Google Pixel 6a

The U.K.’s top phone value

Display: OLED Display 6.1 inches (2400×1080).

Google Tensor: CPU

Storage / Expandable 128GB / None

Rear cameras: 12.2MP main camera (f/1.7), 12.MP ultrawide camera (f/2.2).

Front camera: 8MP (f/2.0).

Weight: 6.3 oz/178 grams

Batteries: 4,410 mAh mAh

+Bright display+Compact size for a phone with a 6.1-inch screen+Tensor-powered capabilities at a lower price than the Pixel 6

Avoidable reasons

-Slow performance in our battery test

The UK was not covered by the Pixel 5a last year, but the Pixel 6a is available in more places. Google’s midrange smartphone continues to offer superior camera performance at a low price.

The Pixel 6a not only picks up the Pixel 6’s powerful camera program, but it also runs on the same Google Tensor chip that powered the last fall flagships. The Pixel 6a can perform many machine learning-powered features such as the Magic Eraser tool for photo editing and on-the-fly translation.

The Pixel A series phones still have a poor battery life, but the bright display of the 6.1-inch screen is a plus. Although the phone comes with Android 12, the Pixel A series will be receiving Android 13 and Google promises up to five years worth of security updates. You should be able keep the Pixel 6a for a while.

4. iPhone 13 Pro

An excellent iPhone that is less expensive, but still works well

Display: OLED display 6.1 inches (2532×1170).

CPU: A15 Bionic

Storage: 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, 1TB

Rear camera: 12MP wide, 12MP ultrawide (f/1.8), and 12MP telephoto(f/2.8).

Front camera: 12MP (f/2.2).

Weight: 203g

Batteries: 3,095 mAh

+Super-powerful chipset+Excellent Photography+Much longer battery life

Avoidable reasons

-No charger included in the box -Video feature restrictions

The iPhone 13 Pro Max is slightly smaller in size and has a lower battery capacity. This iPhone is still a formidable competitor to Android’s iPhone 13 Pro Max. Apple has worked hard to create a combination of power and ease-of-use that beats all Android rivals.

The iPhone 13 Pro 6.1 inch still has a great display, amazing cameras, and the identical A15 Bionic chipet as the iPhone 13 Pro Max. This feature allows the iPhone 13 Pro to outperform any Android phone in real-life benchmarks and tests.

Be aware that the box does not contain a charging brick. You may need to purchase a new charger depending upon your phone’s model. Apple’s ProRes video mode is only available if your iPhone 13 Pro has 256GB storage. This seems unfair to people who don’t really need it.

5. OnePlus 10 Pro

Get the best Android features at a fraction of the price

Display: 6.7-inch AMOLED (3216×1440).

CPU: Snapdragon 8 Gen 1

RAM: 8GB, 12GB

Storage / Expandable : 128GB, 248GB / No

Rear cameras: 48MP main, 50MP ultrawide, 8MP f/2.4, 3.3x Telephoto

Front camera: 32MP (f/2.2).

Weight: 7 ounces

Battery: 5,000 mAh

+Excellent battery performance and charging+Beautiful screen+Best OnePlus cameras to date+Lower price than last year

Avoidable reasons

Telephoto only 8MP

OnePlus has made many improvements to the 10 Pro. But the best decision was to lower the price from last year. You can now get a powerful smartphone at the same price as an entry-level Samsung or iPhone.

The new design features include a matte-finished back, curved camera block and refined 120Hz QHD displays. Hasselblad also helped to improve photography. You can charge it at up to 80W and the battery lasts for up to 5,000 mAh.

The telephoto camera’s limited resolution was the main issue in our review. It’s 8MP smaller than the zoom cameras on rival phones, which you can see when comparing images. The OnePlus 10 Pro is our choice for the best premium smartphone value.

6. Google Pixel 6

Premium Android at a fraction of the price

Display: OLED display 6.4 inches (2400×1080).

Google Tensor: CPU

Storage: 128GB, 256GB

Rear camera: 50MP main (f/1.85), 12MP ultrawide (f/2.2)

Front camera: 8MP (f/2.0).

Weight: 207g

Batteries: 4,614 mAh

+Amazing onboard photo editing+Amazing AI-focused chip+Surprisingly affordable

Avoidable reasons

-Short battery life – No telephoto camera -90Hz refresh rate

Google has made huge strides forward with its Pixel 6 series. It now offers phones that are comparable to those of its most popular rivals. The Pixel 6 Pro is our favorite phone due to its superior display and extra camera. However, the Pixel 6’s starting price of PS600 makes it an excellent value.

Despite the low price, you still have access to Google Tensor. This new chip from Google allows for fancy new features such as custom image processing and on-device audio translation.

The Pixel 6’s two limitations, the 90Hz display rather than the smoother 120Hz, and the absence of a telephoto lens are a bit frustrating. However, these can be found on the Pixel 6 Pro. The Pixel 6’s poor battery life is more noticeable so it is worth having a charger on hand for long days.
