It can be overwhelming to choose the right camera phone when there are so many options. We have compiled a list of the top phones that allow you to take photos outdoors.
Although many phones can be used to take great pictures, different models offer different strengths. Some cameras deliver stunning, clear, beautiful images that are free of artifacts, while others offer incredible image processing technology to enhance every shot.
The flagship flagships usually have the best features, but you don’t need to skip the more affordable models.
The manufacturers approach this issue differently. The best Samsung smartphones offer great hardware and some innovative software modes. While the best iPhones have incredible AI optimization, they are also very affordable. Looking for unique lenses? These are the top Huawei phones that deserve a shout.
It is also important to think about whether you prefer natural-looking photos over processed shots. How many lenses would you prefer? Or if you just need the best image stability or a phone that can take amazing snaps in low lighting.
We’ve reviewed every smartphone worth your time to help you make an informed decision. We test every smartphone that is worth our time. This allows us to determine which smartphones are the best for night photography, selfies, zoom shots, or any other type of photography.
Below, we have ranked them all, along with pros and cons and a complete specs list.
If nothing quite appeals, don’t despair. We are seeing new phones all the time, and we expect the iPhone 14 as well as other upcoming smartphones to make this list even more interesting. Keep checking back to see what has changed.

+Great overall performance+Strong battery lifetime
Avoidable reasons
-Limited design modifications-Notch still too big
iPhone 13 Pro Max and iPhone 13 Pro Max have stunning cameras. They each pack a 12MP main sensor with large 1.9um pixels, an ultra-wide 12MP camera, and a telephoto 12MP with f/2.8. Each has 3x optical zoom. Both have identical cameras. The only difference between them is their phone screen sizes. We’ve combined them together.
Although they lack the same lens number or optical zoom length as other phones, their performance is outstanding. They are still capable of taking close-up shots despite not having a dedicated macro lens.
Our tests showed that the iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max excelled in low light performance. Apple’s smart AI optimization, which uses Deep Fusion to enhance your photos to look as beautiful as possible, is also available here.
We are impressed by the new Photographic Styles feature as well as Cinematic mode, although we doubt that most buyers will use them. The iPhone 13 Pro Max and iPhone 13 Pro Max are photographic beasts thanks to their improved Portrait mode, return of ProRAW and great point-and shoot experience.

The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra continues the legacy of the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra. There are many lenses available. There are two 10MP telephoto lenses. One is f/2.4, with a 36-degree field-of-view (FOV), and the other is an f/4.9 with a 11-degree FOV. A 12MP ultrawide has a 120-degree FOV and a 108MP main wide camera (f/1.8), with an 85 degree FOV.
The Galaxy S22 Ultra has four rear cameras and a super high-res front camera. This handset is versatile. You can switch between wide fields of view and super-zoomed one. The software is also a huge help. Samsung has made improvements in optical image stabilization and digital image stabilization as well as image processing. This is especially noticeable when zooming in.
The optical zoom images at 3x, 10x, and 100x are solid. They provide clear images of faraway objects and allow you to crop in details with very little pixelation. The iPhone’s Space Zoom images at 30x and 100x are exceptional compared to the previous.
The S Pen stylus is a great tool for editing your photos. We found it to be much more precise than our fingers so it could prove to be very useful in image editing apps. This phone is a great camera phone with Adaptive Pixel and Auto-Focus Assist.
