Why is Display Calibration so Important?
An expensive monitor is not worth it. Its impact will be diminished if you do not calibrate your monitor regularly. You might not get the exact colors you see on your screen.

It’s all about sharing images, watching online movies, and snapping digital pictures. Colour calibrating monitors are important to get as close as possible to the real thing.
Graphics professionals will need to have serious color accuracy testing tools, such as the Datacolor Spyder5Elite S5EL100 Calibration System. Some will use the default OS monitor calibration software.

This site provides a simple monitor calibration tool that adjusts the brightness and contrast of the screen using grayscale tones.
You can adjust the buttons or settings on your monitor to make it easier to distinguish between true black and true white tones. After calibration, blacks should appear black without any hint of gray.
To view the grayscale chart in full-screen mode, dim your lights. Your monitor should be viewed from a normal distance.
Lagom LCD Monitor Test pages are far more extensive than Photo Friday. This site contains a variety of test patterns, which range from checking for contrast to testing for response times. It is recommended that you go through all the tests in the same order.
To check sharpness, contrast, brightness, and brightness, you can use the first few images. To check if the display’s brightness or color changes in corners, you can use the “Viewing Angle” test.

The Homogeneity Test helps pinpoint damaged pixels or monitors with backlight bleeding. The last two tests in the list are 1:1 Pixel mapping and testing to see if there is a blurring of Text. The former isn’t a problem with LCD monitors but the latter is worth trying if your screen text is not crisp enough.

4. Monitor Calibration and Gamma Assessment
Remember that we just talked about Gamma values a while ago? This page, and the associated test, is dedicated to it. It’s easy to see the importance of each step and how they work. It is important to remember that hue and color saturation can change with gamma values.

Display Calibrator Assistant is available for macOS Sierra. It can be accessed from Apple menu>> System Preferences > Displays> Color > Calibrate. Spotlight is also available.
Users don’t have to worry about the steps or rely on third-party software. These tools are sufficient unless you’re a professional photographer or a graphic designer who needs high-fidelity colors.
