Who was the last to win the Ashes?
Only the sixth time in history, the Ashes finished in a draw in the final game of the series, which took place in 2019.
Australia won the first and fourth tests, while England won the third and fifth. The rain-disrupted second resulted in a draw.
This means that Australia, which entered the series as the holders after winning the previous edition, has retained the Ashes only the second time this century.
Are the Ashes only every two years?
The Ashes are contested approximately once every two years. 71 series have been played since 1882, when the Ashes were first created.
Australia has the advantage, having won 33 Ashes series against England’s 32.
Six series ended with honours, with Australia winning the trophy on five occasions.
The results of the Test are less evenly divided with Australia winning 136 and England winning 108 respectively, with 91 ending in draw.
It is called the Ashes.
One of the most well-known myths in sport is The Ashes founder myth.
It began with Australia defeating England in August 1982. This low-scoring affair sparked panic among local media outlets. Some things are not subject to change.
There were many mock obituaries of English cricket published. But it was Reginald Shirley Brooks’ elegy in September that gave rise to the idea.

Ivo Bligh, England’s captain, pledged that he would “recover those Ashes” on the 1882-83 tour to Australia. The story is that Bligh received a small urn with the ashes from a burnt bail.
Lord’s Cricket Ground now has the urn on display, and a replica in terracotta is being presented to the winning team.
Why are the 2005 Ashes so well-known?
The 2005 victory by England ended the longest winning streak of Ashes history. It was a 17-year span of Australian dominance, during which England won only seven Tests to Australia’s 28.
This series is a great success in English circles. The two-run win margin in the second Test was the largest in Ashes history. It evened up the scores after Australia had comfortably won the opener. England then went on to win their first Ashes victory since 1987 and their first home-grown triumph since 1985.
