How to See Who Liked Your Playlist on Spotify

Popular Posts

You might be curious how to track who liked and followed your Spotify playlist if it is getting traction.

How to find out who liked your Spotify playlist

Spotify does not allow you to track who liked your playlist. The total number of people who have liked each playlist can be seen. Click on Your Library to open your profile. Click View Profile, then Playlists. Below each playlist’s name, you will see the total number of likes.

Spotify does not allow you to drill down into who liked your playlist. Instead, you only get the total number of people who liked it.

This capability existed in 2013 when Spotify was founded, but it lost it.

The only feature that allows you to see individual profiles/names within the product is the list of Spotify users who have followed your profile/account on Spotify.

Spotify will soon be able to show who has liked your playlist.

Do not hold your breath.

A feature request was created in 2013 to allow you to see who liked your Spotify playlist. This was shortly after Spotify discontinued it.

Spotify users have been commenting and voting on the request in the Spotify Community forums, asking Spotify to implement this feature.

Over 22,000 Spotify users have voted for this feature, and 1,700 comments have been made on the ticket asking when it will become available.

Last week, a Spotify customer posted a plea to Spotify for the feature.

This was the last time Spotify addressed this question in January 2019. They responded with the following:

We’re keeping the idea as ‘Not Right Now’ because this is not something we have immediate plans to implement. We value your feedback. We will update you with any new information if we have it.

Spotify doesn’t allow you to see who has liked or followed your playlist.

Spotify does not intend to add the feature any time soon. Beware of public pressure.

You can still do your part by voting for the feature request and asking Spotify why it hasn’t been added yet.

It’s hard to know if it will be a big difference but it’s worth the effort. There’s power in numbers!

Is there a way to find out who liked your Spotify playlist?

There is a lot of clickbait on this topic. The truth is that there isn’t a reliable way to find out who liked your Spotify playlist.

While I have watched many hours of YouTube videos and read many articles about this topic, none of them offer a way to get this done.

Many people suggest that you wait until your Spotify account gets a new follower, then compare your previous playlists’ like/follower counts to determine if they also liked one of your playlists.

This suggestion is so useless!

First, it is impossible to prove that the new follower also liked your playlist.

Who is sitting around all day looking at their Spotify followers and keeping track of their playlist likes?

I’m not claiming that there is a hack to do this.

Vote and comment on the feature request to make sure Spotify builds it.

How to check how many Spotify playlists have been liked/followed

As we have already mentioned, you can only do one thing with Spotify playlist likes/followers. That is, see how many people followed it.

You can view the number of followers and likes that a playlist has on Spotify by opening the app, then choosing Your Library at the bottom.

This will bring up a list of your most recently played songs and artists. The top of the screen will display your profile icon along with your name. Click it.

You will now see your name at the top. Below it should read “View Profile”. Select View Profil (on desktops, it will just say “Profile”)

Here you can see all your playlists, followers, and everyone you are following. You can click on Playlists to see a complete list of all your playlists.

The total number of followers and likes should be visible just below the playlist title.

It’s worth noting, however, that Spotify calls them “likes” on their mobile app, while Spotify refers to them on its desktop version as “followers”. Both are the same thing.

The desktop version may also show the number of followers / likes to the right of your playlist title instead of directly below it.

How to find out who is following your Spotify account

Open Spotify and select Your Library at the bottom to see who is following you.

This will bring up a list of your most recently played songs and artists. The top of the screen will display your profile icon along with your name. Click it.

You will now see your name at the top. Below it should read “View Profile”. Select View Profil (on desktops, it will just say “Profile”)

You can see your playlists, followers, and anyone you are following from this page. A complete list of all your followers can be found by clicking Followers.

Scroll down to see all!

Conclusion

In 2013, Spotify had a feature that let you see who liked and followed your playlists. But they removed it.

You can now only see the number of people who follow and like your Spotify playlist.

It has been a top-requested Spotify feature for nearly every year since the removal of the ability to view who liked or followed your playlist. It has been voted on by over 22,000 people.

Spotify still classified the request as “Not Right Now”, and has not commented on it since 2019. They don’t appear to be planning on adding it anytime soon.

Worse, there are no workarounds or hacks that can be trusted!
