An iPhone makes it easy to set up an alarm. What if your alarm sounds too loud or too low? Many iPhone users have the same problem with alarm sounds that are extremely loud or low. Are you one of these people? These solutions will fix your iPhone’s alarm volume problem.
It’s important that we get some basics out of the way before we move on. Do Not Disturb mode and the Ring/Silent physical toggle won’t alter the alarm sound. Even with these settings enabled, your alarm will still ring at the preset volume.
Let’s look at different solutions.
1. RESTART IPHONE
Start the troubleshooting by restarting your iPhone. Sometimes, an intermittent glitch or bug can cause alarm volume problems. A restart should resolve that.
2. CHECK ALARM VOLUME
You cannot change the alarm volume with volume buttons unless Sound settings has enabled ‘Change With Buttons’. This setting should be enabled first if you want to adjust the alarm volume. Alternatively, you can adjust the alarm volume using the volume slider found in the Sound settings.
To do this, open Settings and then go to Sounds & Haptics. To adjust the volume of your alarm, use the slider located under Ringer and Alerts. Enable the toggle for Change with buttons if you wish to adjust the volume of your iPhone’s alarms in the future.
3. CHANGE ALARM TONE
You might find that your alarm tone is too loud or low. Change the alarm tone to see if it changes.
These steps will change your iPhone’s alarm tone:
Step 1 Open the Clock app for your iPhone and navigate to the Alarm tab.
Step 2 Click on the Edit option in the upper-left corner. Choose the alarm you wish to modify.
Step 3 Tap Sound to change the notification tone. To save your changes, hit the Save button at top.
4. CHECK SLEEP MODE ARM
You can set your iPhone’s alarm volume if you use the Sleep/Wake Up feature (previously known as Bedding). Check to make sure the alarm volume you have set is correct. These are the steps to follow:
Step 1 Open the Clock app and then go to the Alarm tab.
Step 2 Tap on Change next to the time under Sleep/Wake Up.
Step 3 Scroll down to find the volume slider under Alarm options. It can be used to adjust the alarm volume. Click the Done button.
Tip – You can adjust the volume of your alarm for sleep mode using the Health app > Schedule. Next to your schedule, tap Edit. Next, adjust the volume.
5. TURN OFF THE ATTENTION FEATURE
Various iPhone users have pointed out that turning off the Attention aware fixed alarm volume is too high/low issue.
Note: The setting is only available for devices that run iPhone X or later.
Go to Settings > Attention > Face ID and Attention to turn it off. Toggle Attention Aware Features off.
6. DISABLE ALL ALARM APPS
Are there any alarm apps installed on your iPhone? You can uninstall them to check if they are affecting the volume of your alarm.
7. DELETE ALARM
Recreate the alarm to fix the volume problem if it is only one alarm. To do this, you will need to delete the alarm and then set it up again.
8. UPDATE PHONE
Your iPhone’s software update could have a bug that is causing alarm volume to be affected. You will need to update the iPhone to fix this issue. Navigate to Settings > General > Software Update. Your iPhone will inform you if an update is available. It is easy to install. Next, create the alarm.
9. RESET SETTINGS
Reset all settings on your iPhone if the alarm volume keeps going up. This is a simple task, as only one set is required.
To reset all settings, go to Settings > General >Reset. All settings will be restored to their original value by doing this. Learn how to reset iPhone settings.
TIME TO CHECK CONNECTED DEVICES
These solutions should resolve your problem. If that fails, you can try connecting Bluetooth devices. If a Bluetooth device (headphones or speakers) is connected with your iPhone, then the alarm will play through both your iPhone’s speaker and the connected device. Sometimes, however, this might not be possible due to a bug. Turn off Bluetooth in Settings > Bluetooth to check if the alarm volume returns back to normal.
