Surprisingly macOS Monterey doesn’t display the battery percentage in its menu bar by default. To monitor your battery charge, however, you can display the percentage of the battery on macOS Monterey. This feature can be enabled by following these steps.

Many macOS users may not know that the battery percentage can be seen in the menu bar. Some may wonder if Apple has removed the feature completely from the latest macOS versions. It’s important to note that these steps are identical for macOS Monterey as well as Big Sur.
Display Battery Percentage in the Menu Bar of macOS Monterey
- Select System Preferences by clicking the Apple icon in the upper left corner.
- Then, select Dock & Menu Bar.
- Scroll down to the left and select the Battery option.
- Last, make sure to check the box next to the Show Percentage option. You also have the option of showing the percentage icon next to the battery icon in the Control Center. You may also want to display the percentage of your battery if you prefer to use the iOS control center for basic controls on macOS. Make sure you check the box for Show In Control Center.
Remaining Battery in macOS Monterey
You can now easily track the remaining battery on your Mac. The battery percentage indicator is located on the left side of the battery icon on Mac’s menu bar. The battery icon will also appear in Control Center at the bottom if you ticked the ‘Show in Control Center’ box.

This is a simple way to add the battery percentage to macOS Monterey and Big Sur’s menu bar. It would have been better if Apple made it a default option. This is an important feature.
