Bluetooth headphones don’t require wires to be connected to your device. It’s understandable that Bluetooth headphones may not be able to connect to your smartphone or computer. It’s not difficult to get your headphones connected to any device. This is how to connect your Bluetooth Headphone with your Mac, Windows, iPhone, Android, or Windows PC.
Before you Start:
- Check that your computer’s audio is good. It can be confusing if the audio level is low or set to mute.
- Keep your device and headphones at least three feet apart. This will make pairing easier.
- Charge both devices These devices do not need to be fully charged. Just make sure that they have enough power so that pairing is possible.
How to connect Bluetooth headphones to a Mac Computer
- Open the Apple Menu. The Apple menu can be found in the upper-left corner of the screen. A drop-down menu will appear once you click it.
- Click System Preferences.
- Next, click Bluetooth.
- Bluetooth on Mac must be turned on. The Bluetooth page should have “Bluetooth On” written under the icon at the left. Click on the button below if it says “Bluetooth Off”.
- Hold down the power button of your Bluetooth headphones. To connect your Bluetooth headphones with your Mac, activate pairing mode. Click the box next to “Show Bluetooth menu bar” to make your next connection faster. This is located next to the red arrow on the image. Next, hover over the name of your headphones and click on the Bluetooth icon in the menu bar. In the pop-up window, click Connect.

- Click on the Windows Start menu button. The Windows Start Menu button looks like the Windows logo in the lower-left corner.
- Click “Settings” Windows 10 users will find the search bar in the top-right corner. The Search Bar for older versions should be located on the Start Menu panel. Type “Settings” in the Search Bar.
- Click Devices.
- Next, click on the slider next to Bluetooth to turn it off. Click “Bluetooth & Other Devices”, in the left sidebar, if you don’t see it.
- Next, click “Add Bluetooth or another device.”This button is located just above the Bluetooth slider.
- Select Bluetooth in the pop-up window.

- To pair the headphones, simply select the name of your headphones from the drop-down menu. You might find your headphones listed with the model number. This could be a combination of numbers and letters. If you don’t know the model number, you might be able to look for the icon on the headphone.
Once you have paired your headphones with your computer for the first time you will be able to find them under Bluetooth & Other Devices (as long they are in pairing mode).
How to connect Bluetooth headphones to iPhone
- Tap Settings first. This is the icon in the gear-shaped shape on your home screen.
- Next, tap Bluetooth. Make sure that the slider at the top of the screen is green.
- Next, hold down the power button on your Bluetooth headphones. To connect your Bluetooth headphones with your iPhone, activate pairing mode. This will turn on your headphones and activate Bluetooth depending on which model you have. There might be headphones with a different “paring button”. How to connect Bluetooth headphones to an Android phone
- First Open Settings. This icon can be found under your Apps or by sliding down from the top and clicking on the gear-shaped icon at the top-right.
- Next tap Connections.
- Next, tap Bluetooth. Here you can check if Bluetooth is on or off.
- Tap Scan in the upper-right corner of your screen.
- Next, hold down the power button on your Bluetooth headphones. To connect your Bluetooth headphones with your Android phone, activate pairing mode. This will turn on your headphones and activate Bluetooth depending on which model you have. There might be headphones with a different “paring button”. - Next, locate your headphones by tapping them. This number could be a sequence of numbers and letters. You can still find them near the icon for headphones and other devices.
Once you have successfully paired your headphones, you will no longer need to press the Scan button. After your headphones have been turned on and are in pairing mode, you will see them in the Bluetooth device list.
