How to Add an Attachment to an Email on Your iPhone

Did you know that you can attach attachments to your iPhone emails? You can attach files, photos, documents, and other files to emails using the native Mail app for iPhone. This article will show you how to attach an attachment to an iPhone email in two different ways.

How to attach a photo to an email on your iPhone

On your iPhone, open the Mail app and compose a new email. Tap the “” symbol at the format bar to attach a photo. Next, tap the photo icon to select the photos you wish to attach.

1. Open the Mail app for your iPhone. This is the email application with the blue and yellow icon that came with your iPhone.
   Notification: If you don’t have an email account, you won’t be allowed to add attachments. Our guide explains how to add an iPhone email account.
2. Tap the Compose icon. This icon is located in the lower-right corner.
3. Tap anywhere in the email body.
4. Next tap the “icon in the format bar. This symbol will appear in the middle of the screen, just above your on-screen keyboard.
5. Next, tap the image icon. You can also snap a picture and attach it to your phone by tapping on the camera icon. After you have taken the photo, tap Use photo To attach it, click in the bottom-right corner.
   You can also format your text using this menu by tapping the “Aa” icon. Tap the paper icon to attach a file, scan a document with a box surrounding it, or use the pen icon to draw an image.
6. Next, choose the photos you wish to attach. The photo will be marked with a blue checkmark at the bottom right corner. To browse through your entire collection of photos and videos, you can tap All Images.

How to attach a file to an email on your iPhone

Open the Mail app to attach a file or other files to an iPhone email. Tap the right arrow button to select Add document.

1. Tap anywhere in an email body to attach a document. A pop-up menu will appear.
2. Next, tap the right-arrow key in the popup menu.
3. Next, click Add Document. This menu also allows you to insert a photo, or video, scan a document or insert a drawing.
4. Select a document from your Recents list to attach.

Notification: Documents that you have on your iPhone (in Files), on your iCloud Drive, or OneDrive will be searchable.
