To open the charms bar, press the combination Windows+C key combination, then click on the settings icon and select change PC settings to the bottom right. Navigate to PC Settings and click restart now under Advanced startup header.

Windows 8.1’s steps are slightly different. Under PC Settings navigate to the Upgrade and Recovery tab. Next go to Repair. Finally click Resume now.

If you are still running Windows 7 or an older Windows version of Windows, you can use the traditional way to enter the BIOS. This is where you wait until the right moment and then press the correct key.

What is the Best Time to Enter the BIOS

The optimal moment is sometime between powering up the computer and when the operating software is starting. The BIOS is essentially responsible for initializing your hardware, but it does not hand over the bootloader to start the operating system. You missed the moment when the operating system was starting up. The logos are often displayed to indicate this.

A message may appear that you are in the right moment. It is most likely to say something like, “Press to Enter Setup” also means that it reveals which key you need to press.
