By 2021, the world will have more than a billion iPhones. Apple’s billion iPhones might not look the same. Apple has to modify its hardware in order to comply with government regulations.
Learn more about the origins of your iPhone to uncover some interesting facts. There are subtle differences in the iPhone models made in different countries. This is why it is important.
Why it is important where your iPhone was made
Apple’s original iPhone models came with dual SIM card slots. It was only available to iPhone XR, XS Max, and XS Max models produced in China, Hong Kong, Macau, and Hong Kong.
You can use two SIM cards with iPhones manufactured in these countries instead of one. This is due partly to the ban in mainland China on eSIMs.
Before buying a secondhand iPhone, verify its origin. Japan is known for stricter quality control measures, especially for refurbished iPhones.
