Disney Plus offers more than 100 titles in 4K. These include classics like The Lion King and X-Men, as well as modern favorites and Original series. We’ll see 4K content on smart TVs and other media streaming devices grow as 4K becomes an integral part of smart TVs.

What is Disney Plus in 4K
Yes! Yes! There are approximately 900 films and 300 TV shows available to stream. Although most of these titles are available only in HD, 100 titles are available to stream in stunning 4K UHD (Ultra High Definition) format.
This is a tenth the Disney Plus catalog. It’s a small amount. It does include the most important content for enhanced picture quality. The 4K resolution (3840×2160) brings four times as many pixels to the screen as a HD (1920×1080) TV.
All things Pixar are ready for 4K, including Toy Story and the award-winning soul. There’s also the Marvel Cinematic Universe intergalactic chaos, plus all Disney Original series such as The Mandalorian, and the entire Star Wars saga. 4K brings a faraway galaxy to life with razor-sharp detail.
You can search for Ultra HD and HDR content in Movies. You’ll also find many other titles in 4K, such as Disney’s The Jungle Book, the teen rom-com Ten Things I Hate About You, and The Muppet Christmas Carol.

How can I activate 4K on Disney Plus
You don’t have to. If your hardware can play 4K Ultra HD, and if the TV series or film is available in 4K, Disney Plus will automatically stream the movie in the highest resolution. This is the magic of Disney!
If your Disney Plus settings don’t update correctly or you want to avoid accidentally consuming large amounts of data, then you can manually adjust your video playback settings as follows:
- The Disney Plus app is now open (opens in a new tab).
- Select your Profile
- Select App Settings
- Under Video Playback, select ‘Mobile Data Usage’
- You have two options: Automatic (best available video) or Save Data, which streams at a lower quality and uses less data.
You can also toggle the Stream over Wi-Fi Only’ option right so that data is not automatically used if you lose a Wi Fi connection.
You can change the video quality of downloaded TV episodes and films by going to Downloads’. This allows you to set the speed limit for downloading them from ‘High’ (lowest option that takes up most space on your device) to ‘Medium or ‘Standard (fastest option that requires less storage).
There are more than 100 Disney Plus 4K titles, but there is no definitive list. Click on the title to see the details tab. If it is, it should say “4K Ultra HD” along with other compatible audio and viewing options like HDR (High Dynamic range) and Dolby Atmos.
You will need a TV, 4K Ultra HD, or HDR display as well as a high-speed internet connection at least 25Mb. This is because you will be downloading large files and won’t want to experience frequent buffering.
Disney Plus recommends that HDMI cables support high bandwidth digital content and external displays support HDCP2.2 (High Definition Digital Content Protection).
What devices can I view Disney Plus in 4K on?
These devices have 4K capability and include Disney Plus on Apple TV. However, you might want to verify compatibility with certain models (e.g. Amazon Fire TV, Roku).

Disney Plus is not compatible with Nintendo devices at the moment. You won’t be allowed to stream Disney Plus 4K if your TV is not 4K. However, the HD resolution will be limited to 1080p.
