Amazon Prime Day is Amazon Prime Day is the biggest sales event for the online retailer of the year. The two-day deal event is eight years old and has earned itself the status of one of the biggest sales on the calendar of retail events. In the run-up to Prime Day 2022, we’re making preparations to enjoy a huge discount on everything from TVs and laptops to kitchen products as well as health and beauty items and much many more.
To help you get ready and also to help you prepare we’re here to give you everything you should be aware of Prime Day 2022. We’ve shared our thoughts on when we believe the biggest sale of the year will kick off in the UK Our forecasts for the top Prime Day deals to expect and some helpful tips to help you take advantage of this event.
Although Amazon does not release data on sales on Prime Day, it did announce that more than 250 million merchandise was bought worldwide at the time of the last Prime Day. Certain analysts believe that the growth decreased last year. DigitalCommerce estimated that Amazon’s sales to have increased by a “modest” 7percent YoY for instance – however, it was still an unprecedented event for the retailer.
Within the US US, the total online spending for Prime Day – that’s not solely on Amazon was greater than $11.0 billion, according to the Adobe Index. It’s higher than the $10.9 billion in online spending the day before Cyber Monday which was the largest spending day of the year in terms of shopping. This is also higher than then the previous Cyber Monday ($10.7 billion). It’s true that Prime Day is spread over two days, not the one that Cyber Monday is, yet these numbers are substantial. We can expect another record-breaking number with Prime Day deals in 2022.
When will Amazon Prime Day 2022 be?
We’re predicting that the date for Amazon Prime Day 2022 will be on the 18th of July from Monday to Tuesday, and from Monday, July 18 to Tuesday, July 19. Amazon hasn’t known the dates for the annual sale will occur until it’s just a few days away however, we are confident that the retailer to launch a massive sale lasting 48 hours that will offer hundreds of daily offers. We also believe that Amazon will bring the event back to its regular time of mid-July, instead of having it held in June like it did last year.
The year before, Prime Day was held in the latter part of July for the first. It was announced just one month after Amazon was forced to delay Prime Day until mid-October, due to supply shortages and delays in delivery caused by the coronavirus outbreak in 2020.
Prior to this, Prime Day was always observed in July. It was initially a 24-hour shopping day in 2015 before morphing into thirty hours of shopping in the month of July, and later expanding to a two-day duration.
What exactly is Amazon Prime Day?
Prime Day is Amazon’s biggest sales of the year. It usually occurs during summer, the annual two-day sale is available to Prime members only. Although it is true that there are non-Prime discounts available on the site during the sale, all of the most attractive offers will be Prime Day deals.
To qualify for these deals, you’ll need to enroll for Prime membership at PS7.99 per month or PS79 for the year or begin with a trial for a free 30 days Prime trial close to the date when it’s declared.
If you don’t plan to continue using Prime following the sale, ensure that you cancel it within the one-month trial timeframe. (You can go through the Amazon Prime review for more information if you’re unsure.)
Prime Day originally started in 2015 as a way to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Amazon. It was designed to motivate customers to shop during the non-holiday season The online retailer claims that its sole goal was to “offer an array of discounts that are more than Black Friday”.
In the years since, Prime Day has grown into one of the largest sales on the calendar of retail, with several other big retailers having promotions that they have developed to make use of the large online audiences that are expected to be present on Prime Day – although the UK is less successful in this respect in comparison to the US.
We’ll bring you the top Prime Day deals at Amazon when they begin as well as bring you the most exciting deals from retailers like John Lewis, Very, Argos, and more.
Of course, we’re likely to see more sales in the coming months on Amazon Echo, Fire, and Kindle devices The fourth generation of Echo speakers is likely to drop to the price that we usually find the third generation speakers at right now (under PS20). But, Blink, Ring, and Eufy devices are likely to lower their prices at some point in Prime Day 2022 as well.
We observed Amazon growing in popularity through its laptops this season, but as growing demand due to the global pandemic eases in 2022, we might find more deals in this segment appearing. The majority of the time Amazon provides gaming laptops, ultra-high performance ultrabooks, as well as a selection of affordable Chromebooks however we’re hoping to find more mid-range models priced in the range of PS300- PS500 available in the summer of 2022.
With the M1 Macbooks getting new models being planned and that the M1 iPad Pros will have had ample time to mature on shelves (and maybe a brand new model already into the world) in the coming year, we’re expecting to see more affordable pricing on Apple devices after Prime Day 2022.
But timing is crucial in this case – and is largely dependent on Apple’s release schedule. If the new models launch too early or far into the season,, we might also find ourselves stuck between releases. The products can receive huge discounts when a brand new model launches however they usually are a huge hit and then stay there. Amazon didn’t sell any iPad Pros for 2020 or MacBooks older than 2020 over Prime Day this year, which means that being from a brand new model, the stocks, could limit the sale.
Overall, however, Amazon Prime Day is increasing in size with each increasing year, with greater selection on the shelves as well as deep price reductions. This means that the next event is already looking promising.
How can you find the most lucrative Prime Day deals?
- Take advantage of the opportunity to try an Amazon Prime free trial
In case you’re not yet a member of Prime, however, you’re in the competition in next year’s Prime Day deals. Ahead of the event, Amazon is likely to offer trial-based trials for its Prime service and you’ll be able to participate in the savings offer as well as enjoy more time using Prime Video in addition.
- Be aware of what you would like to purchase – but remain open
Knowing precisely what you’re hoping to achieve from Amazon Prime Day will be the key to getting the most. This way, you’ll quickly assess how great the deal really is, however, you should be open enough to determine if you should choose a different option.
If, for instance, you are in the market for a new 4K TV, take an examination of the options each manufacturer has Perhaps take a glance at some of them at-home (Currys is fantastic for displaying compares side-by-side in-store) You can also find several options you’d be content to buy. Find out their costs and what their cost could be to help you find a bargain quickly in the course of the day.
But, it’s also important to identify the features you can sacrifice to improve the specifications that you want to have You don’t want to be left out of the top Prime Day deals just because the model you were thinking of doesn’t participate.
- You should keep some flexibility in the budget
Naturally, it’s not a great decision to be caught up in the rush that is currently prevailing and then spend excessive amounts of money in pursuit of a great deal. A little extra over your spending limit can help you find the best deals for your money.
Sometimes, the most attractive Prime Day deals aren’t on the most expensive items however, they are the next level that provides a lot more without increasing prices too much. If, for instance, you’re in the market for a laptop, you could be enticed by the bargain cost for 32GB of Chromebooks. If you can find a 64GB Chromebook that is PS20 or PS30 more expensive, it’s an investment that is much better.
- Be there early but be sure to stay to enjoy the entire day
As the day approaches we recommend that you visit Amazon as early as you can. This will allow you to get the first access to the most significant discounts Amazon offers for the first day of Prime Day and also because the most popular Prime Day deals tend to sell out particularly fast, you’ll require a quick response.
But even if you’ve managed to score a huge discount right away doesn’t mean you’ve done your job. Amazon will offer a range of other notable savings throughout the duration of the two-day event, so you’re worthwhile to keep an eye out also.
- There’s no limit to Amazon price check or price match
Amazon Prime Day doesn’t have to be just exclusive to Amazon. We’re seeing increasing numbers of merchants offering competitive discounts in recent times, and this additional competition tends to drive prices down even more. It’s worthwhile to check out other shops that don’t have the same Prime Day deals, but even if they’re not certain retailers like Currys will offer price match guarantees, and you might be able to get additional discounts too.
Amazon Prime Day vs Black Friday Should you postpone your purchase?
The two events Amazon Prime Day and Black Friday are well-known as having the most lucrative bargains of the year, and even though last year’s deals were more similar due to Prime Day’s deferred date, you should consider whether you should wait until the sales of November 2021. We generally find the same gadgets reduced at each of the Black Friday and Amazon Prime Day sales. There are however some important differences in the way the sale periods operate which could affect the ease of deals to find and whether or not you’ll be able to get your hands on the deals before they are sold out.
Prime Day deals are, evidently, only available at Amazon and that means the majority of discounts are only available to one retailer, and others seeking to compete. Discounts are thus simpler to locate and price-checking is significantly quicker, which means that you’re less likely to out on the top products that are selling fast.
Black Friday however, is spread over a vast array of stores, offering a greater choice and a larger number of shoppers competing. It does mean that price drops since retailers are competing against each other and not only Amazon, however, with flash sales that offer the lowest prices, and a lot of eyes on the shops there’s a chance you’re not in a position to score the bargain you’re looking for.
Although you might be in a position to save a couple of dollars during November you’re more likely to find the most value when you shop for Amazon Prime Day deals. If you’re in need of your technology today, then you’ll be able to rest assured that even if prices decrease during Black Friday, you’ve got an increased chance of getting these discounts during the summer.
The most important day of the year
Amazon Prime Day deals were offered on a variety of items in 2021 including laptops, 4K TVs, headphones, and Nintendo Switch. Nintendo Switch, as well as household appliances like robotic vacuums. While certain categories performed more than other categories, Amazon’s selection of Echo devices is the clear winner in this category. Amazon dropped its fourth-generation Echo and Echo Dots to the lowest prices ever recorded in the summer months, and also great savings for Echo Show 5 and the Echo Show 5 and Echo Show 8 and more.
The Fire tablet and Kindles have also enjoyed their own record-breaking price in particular focus for the Fire HD 8 and Kindle Paperwhite. The most affordable Fire 7 was noticeably absent from the show and did not make a dime during the time during the entire event.
Amazon Prime Day surprised us with a handful of high-end laptop discounts this year, too remarkable considering that previous attempts in this space have been in the past year. However, 4K TVs were hit with only a few discounts available in the form of discounts on LG or Samsung’s 2020 models as well as the return of sales on 2020 models. If you wanted an HD TV during Amazon Prime Day this year the options were limited to Amazon’s Fire-enabled TVs.

Are there plans to have an additional Prime Day in October?
It’s doubtful. In 2020 Amazon increased its Prime Day offers an event to the 13th and 14th of October. It sparked the shopping season for the holidays and forced several of its competitors to begin sale events earlier than normal in order to get consumers to buy from Amazon.
Despite some doubts about delivery and stock in the midst of the outbreak, this event exceeded the previous year’s event, bringing in an additional $3.24bn-worth of merchandise. A large part of this is due to the fact that it was so close to Prime Day was to the festive season, but the flu also impacted shopping habits and saw more shoppers purchasing online than they have ever.
However, Amazon didn’t bring back an October-themed Prime Day last year – and we don’t expect to have one this year too.
