Adobe’s Creative Cloud now offers the software, which includes many tools and features for creating and editing perfect images. The 2018 update was released by Adobe, which adds new features to the already popular software. How does this update affect Photoshop? Does it impact the user experience? Adobe Photoshop, powerful software that can use a lot of your system’s resources, is not something you should be unaware of. It is crucial to make sure that the software can be used easily on your system before you invest in it. Adobe Photoshop CC 2018 has a new version 19, which makes it less resource-intensive.

What’s New?

Variable fonts

Photoshop CC 2018 has one of the most important additions. It now supports variable-type fonts. I can’t count the times I’ve had the need to change my fonts because of the limitations of bolding or slanting. With the 19 updates to Photoshop, styles can be customized quickly and easily using built sliders. These sliders allow you to change between different weights or thicknesses of a type family.

This is a great addition, considering Photoshop has been getting a lot more attention recently due to its lack of typesetting capabilities compared to other products like Illustrator and InDesign. Adobe has added more features to Photoshop to allow users to use one software to do most of their designing.

It’s important to note that Variable Font is compatible with OpenType fonts only. TrueType fonts cannot be used. Adobe worked closely with designers and type foundries to ensure that the variable font options are consistent across all typefaces. This makes it so that each character is clear.

Simple Subject Selection

The AI in Photoshop has become smarter, as is the case with each Photoshop update. Adobe’s new Photoshop CC 2018 version 19 has a new Select Subject feature. Select subject lets you choose the most prominent subject from an image with a single click. Adobe claims that this feature can identify many objects in an image, including people, animals, vehicles, and toys.

It is easy to access the Subject Selection feature. Select -> Subject or use the Quick Selection tool to select the subject. You can also use the Select Subject tool, which will allow you to select the subject of the image. It is important to note that this feature is machine learning and will improve over time. The feature worked well for most images, but it failed to correctly recognize multiple subjects when I used it against them.

In-app Learning

Photoshop is undoubtedly a powerful tool that offers many features to its users. It is actually the most feature-rich, advanced image editing software available. The tool’s complicated toolbox and UI can make it difficult for new users to learn. Adobe recognizes this and has added a feature to Photoshop CC 2018 that allows users to learn the software directly within the app.

There are many online courses that can help you get started with Photoshop. Adobe’s “in-app learning” feature will make it even easier. PhotoshopCC 2018 offers annotated steps with its own sample images that cover categories such as Photography, Retouching, and Combining Images. Each module contains three to five instructional lessons.

Rich Tooltips, which shows how each tool works in Photoshop, is also included in the software. However, this feature may seem more intrusive than helpful for users who are familiar with the software. Advanced users can disable the feature by going to Preferences.

New Features for Brush Control

The brush tool is a very important tool for designers and illustrators. Adobe also updated its brush-related features and has created a variety of new tools to help you create the perfect image.

Pulled String Mode

Paints only when the string is taut. No marks are left by cursor movements in the smoothing radius.

Stroke Catch up

This mode allows the paint to catch up with your cursor even if you’ve stopped the stroke. This mode will stop the paint application when the cursor moves and stops.

Catch-up on Stroke End

Completes the stroke starting at the last position and ending at the point you have released the mouse/stylus control.

The new Photoshop CC 2018 has many other brush features. Brush organization is improved. You can organize your brush presets in folders or nested folders. Brush tool presets can be managed directly from the Brushes panel. You can save customized Brush tool presets to an actual brush preset while still keeping their attributes, such as opacity and blending mode.

User Experience

The Photoshop experience has been amazing for me, even though I’ve been using it for nearly 5 years. Although the software requires some hardware to achieve optimal performance, the results are amazing and only limited by your imagination. Photoshop CC 2018’s 19th update adds many useful features to the program, making it more powerful and more efficient.

Thanks to the optimizations under the hood, the new update runs much smoother on a wider range of devices. Another problem with Photoshop is its steep learning curve. The new in-app learning function makes it easy for new users to get used to the many features Photoshop has.

Pricing and availability

Adobe Photoshop CC 2018 is hands down the best and most feature-rich image editing tool. While some might argue that Photoshop is expensive, I disagree. Adobe Photoshop CC 2018 can be purchased for as low $9.99 per month.

Adobe Photoshop CC 2018: Worth it?

Version 19 is an incremental update, as with every Creative Cloud update. Photoshop 19 is an incremental update that adds Variable Fonts to the program and new brush control features. This makes Photoshop, already one of the most powerful photo editing programs available, even more powerful. Photoshop may seem too powerful for basic photo editing tasks. If you are looking for professional-grade edits, Adobe PhotoshopCC 2018 is the right software.
