How to reset your AirPods and fix most problems

This tip utilizes the “turn off and on” philosophy of Apple’s wireless headphones. Just pair them with your iPhone and all should go as usual.

To reset your AirPods:

  1. Return the right and left earbuds to the charger box.
  2. Hold button for 15 seconds until flashed. Depending on which charging case you have, the LED might be inside the lid.
  3. Open your AirPods bag and place it near your iPhone to begin the pairing process.

AirPods don’t require that you pair every Apple device. They pair automatically through iCloud.

These troubleshooting steps will help you resolve any issues with your AirPods.

1. How to Find Lost AirPods

Apple’s Find My option for finding AirPods is now available. However, there are restrictions. AirPods can show you their last known position even if they’re not in their case.

To locate your AirPods:

  1. Use your web browser to navigate to iCloud.com
  2. Sign in, click To Get iPhone.
  3. The All Devices dropdown will be at the top.
  4. Select your AirPods to view their location.

If your AirPods are hidden in your home and you’re having trouble finding them, click the PLAY SONY button and listen for the beeps.

2. Solutions to Static and Patchy Audio Problems

AirPods may be causing audio issues. It can drop dramatically if there are obstructions like walls or other sources that interfere.
