You can call this free download manager Free Download Manager (FDM). It can intercept and monitor downloads from web browsers but it can also function independently.

Download torrents in batch, preview ZIP files before downloading, deselect files from compressed folders, download whole websites, resume broken downloads and run virus checks. You can also control bandwidth allocation and download all links from your clipboard.

FDM lists files in the order they were listed. However, you can drag files up and down to change their priority.

You can also preview and convert audio or video files before downloading them, set traffic limits, create portable versions of the app, schedule downloads, and schedule them to occur on specific days.

This program is compatible with Windows 11, Windows 10, Windows 8 and Windows 7. You can also install it on Linux, Android, MacOS 10.13, 10.14 and 10.15. It works with Chrome and Firefox.

Remote management is probably the most exciting feature of JDownloader. You can use either the MyJDownloader mobile app or the MyJDownloader website for remote management. This allows you to manage, stop, and track your downloads from any location.

The CopyGrabber in Javader adds any downloaded link directly to the program. This allows you to start a download almost immediately after copying it.

The download manager also allows you to save download links in a password-protected encrypted format so that you can import them later.

Play and Pause buttons are located at the top of this program. This makes it easy to manage all pending downloads.

You can also control the download speed, maximum simultaneous connections and downloads using the JDownloader program from the bottom at any given time.

JDownloader is a free download manager that supports Windows, Linux and Mac operating systems within Firefox and Chrome.

The program may be downloaded inside a RAR file. In this case, a program such as 7Zip will be required to open the archive. You should also be aware of any other installation offers in the setup. These are not relevant to JDownloader.

GetGo Download Manager supports batch downloading as well as floating drop boxes for quick downloads via drag and drops.

You can either paste the links directly into your program, or import an LST file that contains all download links.

Dozens upon dozens of virus scanners examined this program for potential threats, . A few of them recognized it as malware. The majority of scanners found nothing so it is unclear if DAM can be considered safe.

What We Like

Xtreme download manager (XDM), has a very simple interface. This is a big plus considering that many of the other download managers on this list have a lot of options and menus.

This add-on requires permission to view and modify all data from sites visited by you. Please avoid using the site for online banking or sharing your personal information.

XDM also includes a preview that allows you to see media files in advance. You can also resume damaged downloads, slow down the download speed, convert files and automatically download files in a particular format. It can also schedule downloads and set certain shutdown parameters.

This program works on Windows, Mac, and Linux. Chrome, Firefox and Opera support browser monitoring.
